An archaeologically significant cut feature was found to dissect natural geology at the base of a single test-pit (c.0.26m. below original ground level). Rapid manual investigation of this feature gleaned burnt sandstone, animal bone and two sherds of early 13th C. pot (including a rim). The precise nature of feature not ascertained. Four 13th-14th C. pot sherds, 30 pieces of 18th-19th C. pottery and four fragments of 18th-19th C. clay pipe were also recovered from the removed overburden.
