The fields are now merged into one large unit.

Prehistoric
Eight humanly-struck flints of probable Mesolithic origin, including a bladelet core and side scraper were collected.

Anglo-Saxon
AS bun-shaped loom weights found in 1950’s, now in Barbican House Museum, Lewes.

Medieval
Four sherds of 13th-14th century medieval pot

Post-medieval
One sherd of mid 16th-early 18th century pottery and two fragments of 18th-19th century pot were also recovered from the field.

Method: Initial assessment of field undertaken when conditions not ideal for survey - ground scarified and drilled rather than ploughed.

The following year a second assessment walk was carried out after ploughing.
