13 pieces of humanly-struck flint, including a Mesolithic tranchet axe, were recorded.
It should also be noted that in c.1920 a hoard of about 15 socketed and looped Bronze Age axes was found within the furthest south-west corner of Crink Mead (see Sussex Archaeological Collections 72, 59).
Post-medieval
Much of the land known as ‘The Crink’ is unevenly pitted as a result of quarrying for roadstone, an activity which is recorded in the in the parish vestry minutes in 1850. It is possible that the resource was used for that purpose over a long period.
Method: Casual finds on southern part of field which had been harrowed and sown with grass.
