Archaeological fieldwork
Project Ref No. TA field no.

Prehistoric
A Mesolithic flint core and two humanly-struck flint flakes were identified on a low spur, a discrete location on the southern boundary of Seven Acre Field (TA 65). Other flint flakes were recorded but not retained. A mesolithic tranchet adze reused as a core had been collected earlier from the same site. A small number of flint flakes were identified elsewhere, but otherwise the area was barren.

Post-medieval
One sherd of mid 16th-early 18th century pottery and a single Post-roman tile fragment were collected. A small quantity of tile fragments was noted on the second survey but otherwise the area was barren.

Method: Field mainly subject to quick walk over assessment only. Southern boundary of B65 adjacent to road walked again following ploughing when the flint assemblage which can be associated with the earlier find was identified, at the same time the main area of 12 acre field (TA 67) was also reassessed. Boundary with BAR 12 unclear.
