A series of enclosures from the extensive common land of Allington manor acquired over time by the Medley family and inherited from them by the Earls of Liverpool. Two of the tenements originally had cottages but both were lost by 1840. The unenclosed part of the common remains open land today, a chance survival for all to enjoy. For the rest of the land in Barcombe owned by the Earl of Liverpool see P113/44, TA 1339; P113/44/1, TA 1033; P113/44/3, TA 432; P113/44/4, TA 1178. |
