Recording the boundary bank Chart's Wood. The bank appears to mark the boundary between two copyhold tenements of the manor of Balneath; Bates Croft and Furzeley held, in 1840, by Sir Charles Forster Goring and William Westwood respectively. Furzeley, to the west of the bank, was the older tenement, Bates Croft was granted to Ninian (Nenyon) Masters in 1721. |
