18th century maps of Delves Farm showing a cottage, now lost, in Cheales Mead (TA 695), adjacent to Dean's Barn and Green. Although by the 18th century the land belonged to Delves Farm, the concentration of pottery in the adjoining fields could relate to this cottage, Delves Farm and Gallops Farm. Clearly all these fields were intensely cultivated in the medieval period.

Early 18th century: 2. House plot, garden etc; 25. Cheals Mead. The other house depicted is Gallops Farm.
ESRO GRA 890 (early 18th century)

1779: N. Cheals Mead; O. House, garden, pond.
