Test-pit site: Rectory Old Cottage H299 |
Two test-pits excavated. Test-pit A produced one sherd of mid 16th-early 18th C. pottery, 12 pieces of 18th-early 19th C. pot, 17 additional pottery sherds of certain 19th C. date and 79 Post-roman tile fragments. One sherd of mid 16th-early 18th C. pottery, 17 pieces of mid/late 18th C. pot, 11 sherds of 18th-19th C. pottery and six Post-roman tile fragments were collected from Test-pit B. Additional surface finds at the property comprised one sherd of 13th-14th C. pottery, 14 pieces of 18th-19th C. pot and 17 Post-roman tile fragments. Two pieces of worked flint were found. |
