Test-pit site: Hamsey House H303

Two test-pits excavated. Test-pit A yielded three sherds of late 12th-13th C. pottery, one piece of later 14th-15th C. pot, eight sherds of pottery dating to the 18th-19th C. and 37 Post–roman tile fragments. In a distinct contrast, one sherd of 11th-12th C. and 11 sherds of 13th-14th C. pottery were retrieved from Test-pit B. This investigation also produced two pieces of 19th C. pot, part of a broadly contemporaneous clay pipe and 52 Post-roman tile fragments. Two pieces of worked flint were found.
