Test-pit site: Picketts H333

Two test-pits excavated. Test-pit A contained four sherds of 13th-14th C. pottery, 33 19th C. pot sherds, 32 fragments of Post-roman tile and a whetstone of possible 19th C. origin. Test-pit B produced one sherd from a 14th C. jug, 69 pieces of 19th C. pottery, 65 Post-roman tile fragments, plus one 18th C. and two 19th C. clay pipe segments. An additional sherd of 14th C. pot, one piece of 18th C. pottery and 16 further pot sherds, one clay pipe fragment and a whetsone all of 19th C. date were also gleaned from an inspection of property flower beds.
