Cooksbridge Farm

On this extract of the map of 1738 (ESRO MOB 1698) showing the park, gardens and land in Conyboroughs (held, at that time, by Edward Medley esq) the area of Cooksbridge Farm is described as 'the Barn Close and Tan House Croft' and the field alongside the stream as 'the Tan House Lagge'. This is the site for which a lease was granted to 'William Lulham, a tanner, of Cookesbridge of a tenement, barns, buildings etc. and two pieces of land containing 6 acres', in 1606 (ESRO PN 466).
